We are seeking an experienced IT Engineer to support the operations of a secure FedRAMP-authorized environment. This role emphasizes acting as a liaison between IT operations and the teams responsible for scanning and compliance technologies, ensuring their outputs are effectively integrated into daily operations. The IT Engineer will help drive automation for monitoring, evidence collection, and reporting while working closely with external service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure that FedRAMP and DISA IL5 controls are continuously met.This is a remote position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the computer systems analysis, requirements analysis, modeling, configuration, monitoring and support for mission-critical applications.- Lead the monitoring and testing of application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.- Work closely with business and systems analysts to define system requirements to meet both internal and external customer needs.- Provide status updates to manager, and project manager on project progress, challenges, issues, and end-user satisfaction.Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Operate and support IT infrastructure in a FedRAMP-authorized environment while ensuring ongoing compliance with NIST 800-53 controls.- Act as the primary liaison to teams that manage scanning and compliance tools, ensuring results are actionable and integrated into IT operations.- Develop and maintain automation solutions to streamline monitoring, compliance evidence gathering, and reporting.- Collaborate with scanning tool owners to validate configurations, troubleshoot findings, and align with continuous monitoring requirements.- Coordinate with external vendors, managed service providers, and cloud service partners to ensure operational and compliance requirements are consistently met.- Monitor system health, patch status, vulnerability remediation, and baseline configurations, ensuring timely resolution of issues flagged by scanning tools.- Provide documentation, automation outputs, and evidence to support audits and assessments.- Contribute to runbooks, technical documentation, and automation playbooks for secure operations.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field.
– 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
– Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.- 5+ years of IT engineering, system administration, or cloud operations experience in secure or regulated environments.- Hands-on experience working with or supporting security scanning/compliance technologies (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, AWS Inspector, Prisma, or equivalent).- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional service teams, acting as a liaison to ensure outputs are actionable and drive remediation.- Strong experience building automation scripts or workflows (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or CI/CD tools).- Familiarity with monitoring and log aggregation platforms (Splunk, CloudWatch, ELK, or similar).- Understanding of FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, or equivalent compliance frameworks.- Strong vendor coordination, communication, and documentation skills.- Must be authorized to work in the United States.- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances required for FedRAMP and DISA IL5 environments (e.g., Public Trust, Secret, or higher depending on project requirements).Preferred: Skills and Qualifications:- Experience working directly in FedRAMP or DISA IL5-authorized environments.- Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, AWS/Azure Security specialty, or automation/DevOps certifications.- Background in DevSecOps practices and compliance automation.EEO Statement
